Compare Virginia Medicare Plans
When you compare Virginia Medicare plans, here are some things you should know. You have many options and have spent your whole life working and paying into Medicare. Medicare helps seniors with their health care costs but it doesn't cover everything. Medicare does not cover dental, vision, hearing or even prescription drugs. For this reason, many seek additional coverage known as supplements (Medigap) or Advantage plans to cover costs that Medicare does not cover. Supplements and Advantage plans are provided by private insurance companies and can help with many costs associated with your health care.
Compare Virginia Medicare plans: Supplements vs Advantage
Medicare supplements work alongside your original Medicare coverage and cover Medicare covered services. If it is not covered by Medicare, generally your supplement will not cover it either. Supplements are used to cover out of pocket costs like copayments, coinsurance and deductibles. When you have a supplement plan you should also have a separate prescription drug plan to cover the cost of prescriptions. Medicare Advantage plans may cover things not covered by Medicare like routine vision and eye exams, hearing dental care and prescription drugs. Other things Advantage plans may cover are gym memberships, meals delivered, transportation and more. Not all Advantage plans offer all the same benefits. You should speak with a licensed Medicare insurance broker to find out what would be best for your specific needs.
